Original post war map, just a question, who's in charge in southern Germany, did the Brits dump one of their cousins into the job or did they dig out one of the Hapsburgs?, apparently Archduke Otto did read "Mein Kampf" once and destested  both the Nazi's & Communists

I had imagined a Habsburg on the throne, preferably Otto.

Great, had just finished reading a book about what he was up to during the war, apparently he thought Hitler and Stalin were both abominations and had no illusions about him

Its a very old one from the 50's called "Once and Future Kings", I don't think its been in print for yonks.  It covered what happened to the various German/European royals after WW1 and the various revolutions.

I read a bit about Otto Von Hapsburg when we did E.U law a term ago during independent reading because he was an very early enthusiast for the European project and served as an M.E.P for Bavaria.

trotz alledem: super gemachte karte. gute arbeit!

Besten Dank!

Bon Appetit! ;-)

I think it is based on the original frontiers of 1937, and suppose a total or partial occupation by Soviet Red Army and subsequent bolshevization of eastern provinces.

So western German never formed and German was utterly divided into 4 republics? I dont like this future but at least the DDR is there.

Eh, I don't really like this map. I can't really tell what it is about it that I don't like, though. I think it may be the way you've drawn the borders with all curvy lines. It makes it look inaccurate and lacking detail. I think the size of the map may have something to do with it too; I'm not sure.

Well, I tried a different style of map. The curvy lines were deliberately. But I can understand your point, its definitely unusual.

Cool, but I think that Der Rheinishe Republic should be ceeded to Luxembourg as repayment for the war damage ;P
